Restart Only the W-4 Forms That Need Correcting
Admins can restart only the W-4 forms that are wrong instead of every assigned form at once.
Restarting a worker's W-4 reset and resent every assigned tax form together, so a mistake on one form meant the worker redid forms that were already correct.
What's new
Pick the forms to restart — when an admin selects Restart W-4, a window lists each assigned form with its status, and the admin chooses one, several or all forms.
Completed forms stay untouched — forms that are not selected keep their answers, signature, completion status and history.
No silent extra resets — if forms are linked by tax reciprocity and can't safely be restarted alone, a warning explains why and offers to restart the linked form too.
Reason and audit trail — a restart reason is required, and the audit trail records which forms were restarted, who did it, when and why.
Only what's needed is reissued — tasks, and worker notifications according to admin configuration, go out only for the selected forms, and the worker is told which forms to redo.
Per-form status — the W-4 Center shows the status of each form separately instead of one combined W-4 status.
Why it matters
Workers redo only the form that was wrong, admins stop re-sending forms that were correct, and accurate signed forms stay intact and auditable.
What to expect
Some forms are linked by tax reciprocity and may still need to be restarted together. Admins are prompted to include the linked form in those cases. Restart W-4 stays in the same place as before.
