Offer and Opening Approvals

One approvals area covers both offers and openings, with multi level rules, a shared condition builder, and a single queue where approvers decide.

Openings had a narrow approval model and offers had none. Offer sign off moved to email and spreadsheets, with no gate on compensation, no way to route an exception to finance, and no record of who approved what, at the moment it matters most.

What's new

• One settings area — Company Settings, then Approvals, with tabs for Approver rules, Approvals and Auto-approval.

• Multi level rules — levels run in order, a level whose condition does not apply is skipped rather than blocking, and each level can require any approver or all of them.

• Approvers by name or by attribute — choose people directly or by a user attribute such as the hiring manager of the opening, with a backup approver and an escalation delay.

• A shared condition builder — scope by position, opening, location or location group, plus custom attributes, and offers add data keys and applicant pay.

• One approvals queue — My Approvals shows the items where it is your turn, with filters by type and status, search by opening or applicant name, every level's state, and bulk approve or reject.

• An offer decision dialog — read the actual letter, see approvers grouped by level with rejection reasons, download as PDF or Word, then approve, reject, edit, or revise and resubmit.

• Guidance while the offer is built — compensation fields carry band guidance, a banner appears as soon as an entered value would trigger a rule, and a live approver preview updates as the form changes.

• Approval outside Fountain — an Offer Generation stage produces the letter and an Offer Approved stage represents sign off completed elsewhere, unblocking later stages.

Why it matters

The decision, the letter and the audit trail belong in the same place. Bringing offer sign off back inside the product means the record of who approved what exists at all, and that compensation exceptions route to the people who own them.

What to expect

This is additive. With no approval rule configured, behavior is exactly what it is today, and nobody re-grants a permission: everyone who could already approve openings receives the two new offer permissions. Approval does not send an offer, and Send to applicant appears only once it is approved. Hire Go is not covered in this release.
